The demonstration will provide a very special opportunity for members of the public to see some of Magor Marsh's wild birds VERY close up. With luck, this will include one of Magor's specialties - the secretive Cetti's Warbler. Dr Ian Vaughan is an ecologist working at Cardiff University and will help you learn how bird ringing is carried out, why it's done and the ways in which regular ringing at Magor contributes to vital conservation work, locally, nationally and internationally. This event is suitable for beginners and families, provided that children are accompanied by an adult.
Event details and the full programme of GWT events for the year can be found in the 2010 Gwent Wildlife Trust events guide (pdf, 888kb). Further information on GWT and their activities is available on their website: www.gwentwildlife.org.
